A schools as community centre is established within the grounds of Queanbeyan Public School.  It provides a variety of programs for members of the community.  The Schools as Community Centres (SaCC) is a NSW government interagency programme managed by Families NSW. There are 48 SaCC programmes across NSW, and it was officially launched in Queanbeyan on 20th May, 2005. While Department of Education (DET) is the host organisation, there are another 4 government agencies participating in SaCC: Department of Health; Department of Housing; Department of Aging, Disability and Home Care and Department of Community Services.
